Fred Ellis

Fred joined Next47 in 2025 and is a Partner on the London investment team, where he focuses on AI and SaaS applications in Europe. 

Fred has a background in both startup operating and venture investing. He joined Next47 after four years of investing with Octopus Ventures, where he led investments in AI/ML infrastructure, vertical SaaS, and B2B marketplaces. Prior to Octopus, Fred was building an early-stage fintech business, operating across both product and commercial functions. 

Fred started his career in M&A at Merrill Lynch and holds a BA in Classics from Oxford University.
